Sweet Birds (Portfolio Page)

As part of one of my past projects I explored a range of mediums in order to juxtapose the bright colours of plastic materials with the polluting affects on wild birds and the environment. I hand sewed sweet wrappers and plastic netting, drew onto fabrics and created a bright painting with the dark context of a bird with plastic spilling from its open stomach. The project aimed to combine innocents and beauty with the unsettling truth of some waste disposal methods.
